The Windows registry is one of the key components of your Windows operating system. The moment it becomes cramped, cluttered or even faulty the performance of your PC begins to sink gradually. The following tools help you prevent this and even optimize access times to your registry which usually results in faster boot-up and application load times:

1. Download Microsofts abandoned RegClean 4.1a. It removes most unnecessary keys and values - to start it, double-click on the downloaded file and select Fix Errors.

2. Install the Registry Mechanic now for a more thourough cleanup of your system. The automatic scan performs on startup. Click Repair to solve all registry-related probems and erase even more unnecessary keys.

3. Thanks to all the erasures and reorganization operations your registry becomes fragmented which also results in a drop of performance and may lead to numerous startup problems. This is why we recommend WinASO RegDefrag 1.2. Click Next after the installation and confirm with Defrag now. Even on our newly installed Windows test machine it detected a 11% fragmentation which already lead to some performance degradation.
