Windows XP Systemtuning >> Uninstall unwanted applications to gain free disk space and performance

Microsoft develops Windows under the promise that it covers most users needs and is running on every computer. Additionally, computer manufacturers enhance Windows with their own program suites (that are mostly ignored by people) thus cluttering up the computer and decreasing its overall performance. We show you some adjustments to clean up your computer from these performance anchors and to make you satisfied with the way your Windows works:

1. Press Start/Settings/Control Panel/Add/Remove Programs, highlight programs or tools you seldom or never use and hit the Change/Remove button.

2. The fewer programs are installed on your system the more disk space and system resource you have. Since programs do not only consume disk space but also a rather amount of memory (autorun applications or large Registry entries). Additionaly, we recommend browsing your hard disk for applications that are not listed under Add/Remove Programs. For instance, some applications can only be found under C:\ or C:\Programs (or wherever you might have installed them).

You Windows will thank you for deleting this weight on its shoulders!
