Sunday, January 7th 2007 - Meeting Bill Gates
On Day 2 of the Windows Vista RTM Lab Microsoft invited us to the “Partner Pavilion over at CES 2007 where we got the chance to spot new devices such as digital picture frames, Microsoft’s Zune or HD-DVD laptops. After a while Bill Gates entered the pavilion, talked to us (a couple of members of the international press and bloggers that are writing about Microsoft) and shook hands. For the first I have met Bill Gates in person and not “just” seeing him on stage (e.g. at Mix06 in Vegas or PDC 2005 in LA). That was definitely one of the honors I have ever had. He talked about the future of Microsoft operating systems, the 32-Bit/64-Bit development and his foundation. However, after a couple of minutes he left for an interview. A dream for me would be for him to sign my book as Jim Allchin did...maybe I get my chance one day...
